A full ascent program to the West Summit of Mt. Elbrus (5642 m / 18,510 ft), the highest peak in Europe. We start in the Azau valley, gradually gain altitude with acclimatization hikes to the observatory and Pastukhov Rocks, then summit at night to catch sunrise on the roof of Europe. Technically straightforward, but it demands good fitness and time to acclimatize — which is why we plan a full 7 days.

Arrival and transfer to Terskol
Fly into Mineralnye Vody, transfer to Terskol (2100 m). Intro, gear check, route briefing.
Acclimatization
Day hikes to the observatory (3050 m) and Terskol peak (3127 m). Learning pace and breathing at altitude.
Move up to the "Barrels"
Cable car to 3800 m. Settle in the Garabashi mountain hut, gear practice.
Training day
Climb to Pastukhov Rocks (4700 m), self-arrest and rope technique.
Summit day
Start at 2 AM. Ascent of the West Summit (5642 m), photos on the roof of Europe, descent to the hut.
Descent and departure
Descent to Azau, celebration dinner, transfer to the airport.
